Some cars have become so historically important “that their strenuous use threatens to destroy their originality and integrity,” says the management of the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia. But even such a philosophy won’t stop the museum from exercising three such cars Saturday at its regular Demonstration Days program.

The cars that will be presented, discussed and driven in the parking area behind the museum this weekend are a 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, a 1963 Chevrolet Grand Sport coupe, a 1952 Jaguar C-type and the replica of a 1953 Jaguar C-type.

The program begins at noon. It ends with ropes lowered after the demonstration runs so visitors can get up close to each of the vehicles.

The museum encourages visitors to check the museum’s website for any last-minute changes.
