I am the original owner. Because this car was custom ordered from the factory, Mercury would only produce the car on the last production date of June 26, 1974.
This car was ordered with Ivy Green exterior, Saddle brown interior, and Tan Embassy roof, and a Brougham body. The above colors were not available on standard ordered.
Only used for local shows, the car has 23,600 miles on the odometer. Still all original including exterior paint, this vehicle has never been dented or gouged.
At the time I ordered this vehicle, I considered ordering a Cougar, but I liked the front grille of the Montego better even though they were the same body style. I love the ride of four-wheel coil springs. The ride reminds me of the 1940s and 1950s Buicks.

Nice original choice of Mercury. Keep her nice as she is now as they are few and far between.
I had a 1973 forest green /beige vinyl top/interior 2 dr with the 351 cleveland 2v. I still miss and dream about that car. I have searched and searched. This is the closest I have found. Beautiful cars that road like cadilacs
It was the MX Brougham
I have a 74 MX I am trying to rehab. It needs all cosmetic re-do. I am in search of a new dash and steering wheel. Green interior. Aby of the aluminum trim that might be out there would be handy as well.
